upgrade from 7.10 gusty

 I do not get the upgrade box to upgrade after applying all the updates for 7.10 gusty. Reports that 7.10 is up to date no upgrade box

download the alternate cd installer for 8.0r , burn and reinsert it in your cdrom drive. or if you wish to upgrade online you can

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get upgrade

sudo aptitude install update-manager-core

sudo do-release-upgrade

typo i meant to say 8.04 not 8.0r, but the rest of the information is correct. good luck and if you need any further help please post again
