firewall and a/v for ubuntu 8

hello being a newbie to ubuntu does version 8 hardy heron include a firewall or a/v programs ?

yes ubuntu includes ufw firewall which is disabled by default.
You can enable it by simply typing sudo ufw enable in the terminal.
you can check its status by typing sudo ufw status in the terminal.
There is no need of anti virus programs for ubuntu as the linux operating system is more secure and there is no known widespread viruses for linux.
if you need an anti virus program you can install clamAV anti virus which is available in add or remove programs in ubuntu

Firewall: Firestarter (GUI), or ufw (CLI)
Antivirus: clamav
You can install them with Synaptic (for example).
