radeontool fails on Sony Z1RMP

Asked by Richard Hobbs

I wish to use the external port on my Sony Z1RMP to drive a projector. I have previously used radeontool with Fedora 3 successfully but it does not appear to work on Ubuntu Breezy.

I downloaded and installed deb package from universe using the synaptic package manager.

I issue the command:
sudo radeontool dac on - no respose

I tried su'ing to root and but no response either.

sudo radeontool --debug
returns "segmentation fault"!

My xorg.conf is a vanilla setup with default resolution set to 24-bit 1400x1050, i.e.only one monitor is specified.

I will want my external projector to see 24-bit 1024x768, (when it works).

Advice please
Richard

Assuming you can run & have installed the fglrx driver, install the package

fglrx-control

Then run 'ATI Control' from the apps -> accessories menu.

Can you help with this problem?
