Does Kubuntu need to fully installed to pick up devices on USB?
Hi there, a few questions to help me use Kubuntu as my one and only OS.
I don't know if this can be answered as the 1st item in question is a South African software product (3G vodacom).
On my Boot options usb is active, I run Kubuntu in Safe graffics mode (with out changes not installed as yet) as I need to get Nvidia drivers to run the in normal mode.
when on Kubuntu I inserted my HSDPA 3G vodacom card it runs on a USB and nothing happens, Iplayed around on the menu's to look if the distro picked it up but there is nothing. I know this software is made for Windows, I really need to get this to work on linux as this will be my only way of connecting to the Internet.
1) So how do I get do I get this to work, do I need to first do a full instilation of Kubuntu in order for the USB's to work?
I have done a CD check on the startup menu and there are no errors found.
I did start the instillation after the above then backed out when it asked me to partition the drives 50% was for something like dsa/sra and 50% for Kubuntu I was confused at this point and tried the help menu but it just freezes there and the mouse pointer becomes a no entry sign then when I click on back it unfreezes again, I also searched for USB under the main help files and Add/remove section but it found nothing.
2) Is this defult partitioning ok, and if I should do the partition will I be able to run XP on the spare partion at a later stage again?
3) Why are the Help files not comming up during the presteps to instillation?
4) I did see that the resolution option end at 800-600 will it be able to to go to 1280-800 once the graphics card is working cause it is far to big on it's current setting?
