Unlock disk sda3_crypt

Asked by Alpha du Centaure

The sentence shown in summary appeared when i rebooted my PC after having installed 16.04 LTS with the DVD, in replacement of Windows 8. My password is not recognized and I am blocked. Also I don't recall having requested any encryption, but i may be wrong.
I have just read on your site an answer to a question similar to mine.
Therefore I consider reinstalling with the DVD without requesting any encryption. Is this the right thing to do ? And how can i check if all the partitions have been deleted before ? Sorry I am not an IT expert and I hope my English is good enough !

If you restart the installation you can select "erase disk and install Ubuntu", see
https://36bvmt283fg61unuud3h7qua-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/ub3.png

This will delete everything what you have now.

Do NOT select "encrypt", and do not select "LVM".
