What do you get if you try installing the package kpat?

No need to give up early.

Open a terminal window (e.g. by simultaneously pressing ctrl-alt-t)
Issue the command

sudo apt-get install kpat

You will get a request to enter your password as confirmation for an administrative action, and when you type it you will not see any feedback. Just type it and press the enter key.
This should be everything you need.

afterwards Press the windows key, and in the search boy that opens on top of the screen enter "kpat"
This should bring up an icon for the KDE patience program.
