How easy to have communication with widows

Hi
We are thinking to implement mix network win 2003 , 2000 servers and see if we can add
UBUNTU server ( I very new to a Linux) , so What I need to know how easy to implement windows and Linux server to seamlessly work together

Common way is Samba: https://help.ubuntu.com/6.10/ubuntu/serverguide/C/windows-networking.html

Btw, if you want to copy files from windows box i suggest winscp: http://winscp.net/eng/index.php it's a free program to windows to copy file from linux using ssh.
