Linux Itunes

i wanna know if anybody knows a good substitute for itunes, my ipod does have rockbox on it, so im not sure if that conflicts with anything, any and all advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Take a look at Rhythmbox or Amarok, there are some more but those two are the best I know of.

how do i configure amarok to mount my ipod, it is a 5.5gen 30gig ipod.

Use gtkpod. The best thing to do is to search Add/Remove... for iPod, and test all of the applications and see which one best suits your ipod. For running music directly off your computer, Rhythmbox and Totem are both installed by default, and work very well.

All good suggestions. I like banshee as well. Install via add/remove or

sudo apt-get install banshee

Personally, I think this combined with the default burner in Hardy (brasero) beats iTunes. Of course if you are tied to the iTunes store then probably not. Never used rockbox so no insight there but it's probably a non-issue.
