best advice i can give is to search launchpad, the ubuntu formums and/or google if someone has gotten it working. if this is not the case you can look if someone got working a laptop with the same wireless connector. if this is not the case it is unlikly that you'll get it working easily.
sorry to tell.

michael

Hi Simon, I have a Gateway 3108B laptop & I found the same problem, the internal Realtek 8185 card won't work with Ubuntu, but I have a Netgear adaptor that works OK. I have tried other Distros & I have found that Dreamlinux works OK with the internal card. Another Distro I've found that will work also is Myah. At present I'm using the KIWI version of Ubuntu which has a supply of music codecs. Hope this helps,
Brian
