hardy - can view sd-card only as root

Ubuntu 8.04

I created a new Folder as root at /media/. To this new folder I mounted my SD-Card. Now I can read the contents of my card, but i can only access to it as root.
2GB Sandisk MicroSD in SDcase Fat16

this is very likely not a bug, but something about incorrect directory permissions...

could you post the output of
ls -lah /media/
here?

I think with one of the updates the problem is solved now.
