gimp versions

Asked by mrlopes

Hi...

I'm using Ubuntu 7.10

I've looked in synaptic packages and i think i've got gimp 2.4.2 that came with the live CD.

I've seen other versions like 2.4.5.

Are there newer versions and are they better and any ideas where i can download best version.

Thanx

you can get the latest version of the gimp here: http://www.gimp.org/

ubuntu 7.10 only has 2.4.2, if you want to upgrade that version to the newest the easiest way is to upgrade your install to the lastest ubuntu version (which has 2.4.2 by default), you can use the update manager to do that.

as far as i am aware the only changes between the two versions are bug fixes, new features happen when the second number (the 4 in 2.4.2) changes, so wait for 2.5.0 for that.
