i just intalled utbuntu and my wireless lan on my sony vaio vgn-nr120e not recognised internet works when wire

Please indicate which wireless card is in your computer.
To find that info in Ubuntu: Open a terminal (Application > Accessories > Terminal), type "lspci | grep Wireless", press enter.
Just copy the output here.

lets see what tricks your hardware can do. Open a terminal (like adviced in the earlier post) and type "sudo lshw -C network", press enter and give the sudo password. Then paste the output here.
