Since reloading 6.06, nfs mounted disks don't pop up on the desktop anymore.

Asked by Joe Piazza

In my first load of 6.06, whenever a nfs disk got mounted, a folder would automatically appear on the Desktop for that disk. Now after reloading the OS, after fstab mounts a nfs disk, it mounts correctly, but does not show up on the Desktop. I really liked this feature. How do I get it to work again?

Well it's "normal" that it doesn't show on your desktop... I believe the opposite would be a lot more annoying.
fstab mount a number of partition... if all of those would appear on your deksotp it would be a mess.

Just creating a link on your Desktop if you want it here should be fine or ?

I cannot be certain that this will work for you, however, I mounted a second disc at a /media mount point and then showed on the desktop as a browse able icon. Note this worked only for 6.06. When I upgraded to 8.04 only devices having removable media show up on the desktop.

Here is a description of what I found (note not a nfs disc) http://bst-softwaredevs.com/howto/articles/Hardware-ubuntu-8-04-fstab-problems.html

Can you help with this problem?
