problem with installing codecs&other stuff

hello,
I installed ubuntu 6.10, i have problem with installing codecs&other stuff coz iget error that i have a problem missing f-prot installer, i tried install it but cant find it&need it in order 2 install it. i am lost. heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp

if more details needed just tell me.

As far as codecs, I guess you are talking about playing Restricted Formats. Have you seen the following page?
