System Tools -> Preferences -> Printers menu item missing

Asked by Gerry Liebling

After upgrading to Ubuntu 16.04 the System Tools -> Preferences -> Printers was missing from the Applications menu. My printer works, and I can print from individual applications, but i would like to get this menu entry restored. I know how to add a menu item, but I don't know what the command should be. Any suggestions?

If you search Dash for the word 'printer'

Does it show?

I normally use Gnome Classic so I did not have a Dash. I relogged in as regular Gnome, clicked on Activities and Printer was not there.

Never mind - I installed hplip and was able to recover the menu item. Thank you for your help.
