when will I receive my requested Ubuntu CD's??

Due to recenly discovered SSL vulnerability, are the Ubuntu 8.04 CDs, that I recently received, vulnerable? Will a fixed version of the CDs be issued and re-sent? Or should I re-issue my request to shipit to receive updated version?

Yes, they are, but fix is released due "normal" updates.

First, it's a shame, that such an important information is not emphasized on Ubuntu main page.
Anyway, will the updated 8.04.1 version be available through ShipIt? It would be logical, since 8.04 sending has been stopped.
If so, the question still stands: should I re-request 8.04.1 or will it be sent to me automatically?

I really doubt they will automatically send you a new cd.

There are always security problem that are found and corrected (the SSL problem in particular is I agree pretty damn bad though).

So you should always install the latest security update no matter what. Update your system after you install from the CD you received and you'll be fine...

Of course if you don't have an easy access to the internet it might be a problem... but can't help you there.

If you don't have internet acces, you don't need care about SSL ;-)

The point is that Ubuntu stopped sending current CDs, which implies that they intend to replace them.
On a side note: it may be not enough to just update the system after installing. That's why having updated CDs may matter. Especially for inexperienced desktop users. And The CDs are not for me, but for them.
That's why I asked. ;)

Anyway let's just say that all these answers my question. :)
