can't play clips from vtc.com and nba.com

any clue?

I believe the videos in question are flash based. Do you have flash installed? Either way make sure you have version 9 from backports.

Looks to me like vtc.com use their own player:-

http://www.vtc.com/modules/content/player.php

There is a version for Windows and one for Mac. I suggest you contact them and ask them for a Linux version.
