BBC media player

Asked by Mark

I notice that the BBC news website is now using Adobe Flash as its default video player. The problem I have is with very jerky playback when using this with Ubuntu. My connection speed is 7Mbps so that should not be the problem. Has anyone else been having the same problem? My Windows laptop (using the same connection and the same version of Flash) works fine.

What version of Ubuntu do you use?

Also, did you try using Flash Player 10 to see if that fixes your problem?

Have you tried right clicking the flash player in firefox and choosing settings and ticking hardware acceleration?
You may also need to install the ATI or nvidia drivers through Applications menu, add/remove, System Tools, and then choose the appropriate "binary X.org driver"

Do you use the adblock plugin in firefox. Then disable it or make bbc news page a "save page"

Can you help with this problem?
