The package alamin-server does not exist anymore in Hardy. Therefore update-manager will try to remove it. Unfortunately this fails, because of an error in the post-removal script. It tries to change ownership of a directory that does not exist.

To fix this you can try the following commands in a terminal window:
$ sudo mkdir -p /var/run/alamin
$ sudo apt-get remove alamin-server

Thanks Albert,

and yes you are right the package alamin-server is not available , update tries to remove it but in vain.

I have try to create the directory in the terminal windows, its not letting me.

And the problems persists..

Hope to hear from you....

Can you post the error message you got? As long as you use sudo, creating a directory in /var/run should not be a problem.
