Flat-bed scanner recommendation?

Can anyone tell me whether the Epson Perfection V100 scanner is compatible with Linux. I`ve looked on SANE and it`s not listed. I tried to get hold of the Perfection 3490 which is listed, but it doesn`t seem to be available anywhere.

seems drivers for V100 are available at avasys site:

http://www.avasys.jp/english/linux_e/dl_scan.html

Note: you will need a binary-only non-free plugin for this to work.
