What file system is the storage using?

i access the folder through terminal, using the command ls -l , the listing for the file with problem was

i try chmod command , i can't access the file

it is usb harddisk in ntfs format

Then I suggest you safe remove the drive, plug it into a Windows system and run a full chkdsk on the file system. There appears to be some issue with it.

Once it is complete, safe remove the drive in Windows and connect it to your Ubuntu system and retry.
