How Do I Join A Differnet Window Network With Samba

Asked by Nate

I have Ubuntu 7.10 and I have just downloaded SAMBA. I am trying to setup file sharing over my network. Currently 3 PCs are on the workgroup "FREYHOME" I set up SAMBA, but when I go to access files on the Ubuntu machine from a PC, the Ubuntu machine is not present in the FREYHOME workgroup, but rather found in some MSHOME workgroup. Normally this would not be that big of a problem, but being that I am setting this network up for my family, who are EXTREMELY technologically challenged (I believe that my dad has almost mastered the whole copy and paste concept for computing) the Ubuntu machine needs to be part of the "FREYHOME" workgroup and not on the MSHOME workgroup. How do I get the ubuntu machine to leave the evil MSHOME workgroup and come over to the FREYHOME side? Any tips are always appreciated!

Thanks,

Nate

I'm not sure but if you go System/Administration and select Network (or something similar, English isn't my native language!), there should be a tab with the domain settings...

Hope this helps
