new to Ubuntu have the just released ed. need to know how do I sign in? please

You have to type the name you wrote during the installation (was called username), press Enter, type the password, press enter again

Itried to input user name and it keeps saying incorrect this is fresh install never put one in yet.

If you used same name for pc and user then when you get to the login window in the bottom right there should be your username - likely to have -desktop after it, try that
