wireless cards

I would like to install a wireless card in my Toshiba SP4310 laptop.I have a netgear router supplied by sky. Can any one give me some advice on the best card to buy and how to install it. I have just started to use ubuntu/linux so a step by step (very simple) guide would be appreciated.
