Kiwi Ubuntu has been locking up everyday

Hello,
I am new to Ubuntu and my computer is locking up everyday.
I used to run XP 64 bit on the hardware and had no issues. I have had this system for over 8 months. The hardware is good.
I am using Kiwi Ubuntu, how do I find out why it is locking? Is there a program or application that I can run that monitors my
system and can tell me what is happening when I lock? If not? What is the procedure to getting this taking care of?
Any ideas?

if you want support with unoffical dirivatives like this you should really ask the makers of 'kewi linux' we are not involved with them at all. alternativly you could install the latest version of ubuntu from www.ubuntu.com
