Cant configure wireless conection with a Broadcom 802.11g

Hi! I have just dropped windows and chose Ubuntu... I'been wandering around trying to have an internet connection with my wireless Broadcom 802.11g. I've tried some tips i read here but i cant make my conection work properly..

last time i tried this..

iwconfig eth1 essid "my essid"

iwconfig eth1 key "my wep"

// But when i reached this point:
dhclient eth1

//it says network is down, and then tries to connect and again network is down

its difficult to me now im starting so i hope any of you can help me out...
