install fonts

Asked by Milan Singha

I have a software that uses BN-TT Durga font. It does not run in Gusty. Can I install the font in OpenOffice and continue my work?

Make a directory in your home folder - either with nautilus or from terminal

From a terminal run this

mkdir ~/.fonts

In nautilus

Shift+Ctrl+n and put .fonts in name of folder

Copy the font into the new folder - to see the folder in nautilus use Ctrl+h as it's a hidden folder

From terminal run

sudo fc-cache -f -v

enter password when asked

Should be available although it might need a reboot

If you installed the font while the program you're using is open, restart the program and look for the font again.

Can you help with this problem?
