version 8.04 retrograde

Asked by BeeReM

Believing that version 8.04 would improve things, I now find that streamtuner no longer works so I cannot listen to Internet radio. (xmms fails).
Cannot watch the video streaming from www.a1surf.com because a MMSH plugin is not installed (this used to work fine.
What else fails?

Is there a way that I can return back to version 7.04?

8.04 is a total let down.

Maybe MS Windows would be the way to get round these issues?

My advise for anyone thinking of upgrading is - wait.

8.04 is better than 7.04 but as with all things... it depends on what exactly you use. If on Windows you would you use a program only a small group of people use and is not 100% supported anymore then you would also may have problems on the next windows upgrade.

Downgrading is not possible unless you reinstall Ubuntu.

But your problems in 8.04 are solvable:
For XMMS: http://anjilslaire.wordpress.com/2008/04/30/xmms-missing-in-hardy-resolved/

The mmsh plugin is also solvable on 8.04.

Can you help with this problem?
