When ever i open my synaptic package manager it says

E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

How do i fix this
Im using ubuntu 7.04 Feisty
I guess i may have added an extra line or something while trying to install compiz-fusion. I never got to install it this error popped up and im not sure if i was even doing it right.

Fortunately, it is not a bug, and can be fixed very simply. The bug report is closed, and has been converted into a question, where you will be able to get quick answers for your problem.

Open up a terminal, and enter the following:
sudo dpkg --configure -a

Can you help with this problem?
