SBackup Process does not show in System Monitor

Asked by Flavelle

When I execute sbackup, it gives me a process id.
If I then open up System Monitor (System | Administration | System Monitor) the process id provided is not included in the list.

This is critical, since it would be reasonable to assume that sbackup has completed (bad assumption, as I have already found out the hard way).

There must be an absolutely reliable and easy way to determine that sbackup has completed!

I think system monitor only shows your own tasks by default. That means that all applications that asks for your password, using gksu or sudo, will not be visible there. You can easily change that in the View-menu of System Monitor, if that's the problem.

Thanks - I've changed the view options and I'll re-run sbackup to test.
