Where do I find info on Xubuntu file structure.

Asked by Warren K.Guerr Jr.

I am new to Xubuntu. I don't understand the file structure. Is there some place online that I can learn about the file structure?
I am use to Windows so I am lost at solving problems in Lenux/

The WIKI for the File Hierarchy Standard gives a nice overview of the file/directory structure used in Ubuntu: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filesystem_Hierarchy_Standard

If you want to have more details, there is a detailed description from Debian: http://www.us.debian.org/doc/packaging-manuals/fhs/fhs-2.3.html

Since Xubuntu is a derivative from Ubuntu, and Ubuntu is derived from Debian, this will apply to Xubuntu as well.
