Preinstalled Lenovo Thinkpad R61i (Linux Emporium) - rescue disc?

Do rescue discs normally ship with preinstalled Linux? Or how do I construct one of my current build?

I am using a Lenovo Thinkpad R61i bought from Linux Emporium - I was expecting to receive a recovery disc with it, in case of catastrophic hardware failure in the future.

You know - one that would initialise all the specific functions my hardware has...

There are not many big manufacturer shipping preinstalled linux. I am not sure if dell / Lenovo provide restoration cd.

I have no idea if the Ubuntu version that from Linux Emporium is just a standard installation with nothing changed or if it's modified in any way.

If you know all of your hardware work out of the box then you shouldn't have a problem just reinstalling Ubuntu. (installation process is fast and easy)

I suggest you contact Linux Emporium.
