Wireless Card not detected- D-Link DWL-G550
I recently installed Ubuntu 6.10 onto a computer with a DWL-G550 wireless card. Unfortunately the card is not detected by ubuntu and hence there is no internet access. Does anyone know how to solve this?
I downloaded "madwifi" however unfortunately i'm not experienced enough with computers to be able to install it. A simplified step by step guide would be appreciated.
Thanks for your time...

If you have the windows driver for this wireless adapter, you could use this guide to help you out into installing Ndiswrapper.
http://
Ndiswrapper lets you use the windows driver to install the network interface on linux.

Hello, I would only recommend using NDISwrapper as a last resort if the card doesn't work any other way. Could you please use terminal Applications>
lspci -v
then copy and paste the results here.
You may want to try using the Network Manager. Applications>
Once the network manager is installed, you should restart your computer.
