Can't boot vista after using the live cd

Im kinda a big noob to this linux thing, so please make your answers very easy-going like a guide or something. Thanks!
Well, after i tried the live cd on my HP Pavillion dv6000 with windows vista, i couldn't boot windows when i turned on my computer, and when i tried it just said "error". I can only boot ubuntu, and ONLY when the live cd is in my disc drive. I have tried to install ubuntu on my computer but it stops when it come to 97%. I saids it need more space and some other stuff. I need help very fast cause i need my computer for school stuff. Thanks.

I suggest you use your windows DVD to repair your MBR so that you can boot windows again.

 Then use the diskmanager in windows to resize the windows partition and then try again to install ubuntu. Ubuntu needs min 10 Gb for an install. (mountpoint / ) Its wise to use another partition for the /home mountpoint and 2Gb for the linux swap. All these partitions could be extended instead of primary. there is an excellent guide for dual booting windows vista and ubuntu:

I am on the same boat... but as some users the manufacture of our laptops doesn't provide a Windows Vista DVD to repair the MBR... so where do we get it from?... sorry but all the help am getting only leads me to a multiple street options... i just need a quick and easy answer as other users
