Firefox child windows width too small

some of the firefox windows (for example the window in Firefox Preferences > Content Tab > Extended FontConfig or Download List or the restore session ... ) but not all are too small. meaning : at the right a part gets cropped of.
by resizing the window i can access everthing but the new size doesn't get stored....
i am using the (swiss) german version of ubuntu edgy, installed via internet. no extensions installed. this occurs on a fresh installation too. problem has been in dapper too, and on other computers as well.

I have the same experiences, but I haven't worried about. But I think bernstein are right. You should create a bug.

I have installed Ubuntu 6.10 edgy english with german language support.
