configure lan

Asked by steve

I have two computers: one an Xp/Ubuntu dual boot and the other Ubuntu only. I want to set up my home Ubuntu folders as a share on both the Ubuntu machines so I can copy files back and forth. Is there a detailed step by step procedure to do this?

Thanks Lem.

I'm a little confused. I want to connect linux to linux, yet the reference
is to smb which I thought was a Windows sharing. I thought Linux used NFS.
Is this optional?

No, of course, you can prefer using NFS if you're only go to sync between linux boxes (but I thought you would like to sync with your WinXP too).

For NFS, see:

and
