Motorola Wireless Notebook Adapter WN825G Won't Work

Asked by Geoff Smith

Can I please get detailed instructions on how to get Ubuntu to recognize my Motorola Wireless Notebook Adapter WN825G? I have internet access on another computer if I need to download something. I also have the wireless card install disk, but Ubuntu keeps telling me the driver I tried to install is invalid. I have Ubuntu installed on a Dell Inspiron 2500. Please be gentle, I am a newbie. Thanks.

Could you add the output of 'lsusb' when run in a terminal to your support request? I believe that your network adapter is supported via ndiswrapper and you can find some detailed information about configuring it here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/Ndiswrapper . Ndiswrapper allows you to use Windows wireless drivers on Linux. Please let me know if you have any specific questions when reading the documentation.
