Suspend button missing in Hardy

After upgrading to Hardy I now find that the "Suspend" [to ram] button is missing from the splash screen when I select to shut down. The "Hibernate" button is also missing, but I don't normally use that. I am running Hardy on a PC and it is very useful to Suspend if I am not going to use my PC for a while.

I think your ACPI is disabled (acpi=off) in the boot-options or it isn't working proper.

Can you help with this problem?
