Could be that they are using Flash or Java for displaying the pictures. Could you give an example of a site that is not working?

Best Regards,

I have Java enabled, also Flash.
I have no sound capability with this machine, however, and video is
universally very slow if it works at all. (This is an AMD-6 chip; I am
working with a machine I got for free.)
My favorite site for photos is here:

http://www.pkblogs.com/plush-life

and while today the top one (Maxx's comet) shows up, even this is not
always the case.

This has been going on since the last time I upgraded Firefox and
Ubuntu (prior to that I could see the pics everywhere I went) so I'm
pretty sure it's my fault. I just don't know how to fix it.

Lets see if maybe your profile has anything to do with it. You could create a new user and then log in as that user. See if you have the same issue with the new user on your Ubuntu machine.

It did not.
Examination of the source code for the photos at the site shows no
apparent difference
between the one (or two, sometimes) that does appear and the ones that
do not show up.
I am at a loss.
Thank you.

Since I also do not get many of these photos, I can only think that it is the website's fault.

Kelly (Sarah's Husband) typing: I tried Firefox and Konqueror on
FreeBSD and Ubuntu from home (Suddenlink Cable ISP) and Firefox and
Internet Explorer on WinXP Pro from work (ttuhsc.edu) with the same
results in all cases. I did find a work around:

Middle click on the space where the photo should be (to open in an new
tab). Then go to the new tab and delete the following from the
beginning of the URL in the address bar:
"http://www.pkblogs.com/images.php?image=" then hit enter and the
photo will load.

I have done a view source and I don't see any difference between the
ones that work and the ones that don't...

Anybody have any ideas.........

I would speak to the blog administrator because it seems to be having some performance issues.
