auto update not present!!

Since I upgraded from 7.10 to 8.04 the system has not present the update icon on the panel. I have to check update manually. If someone could help. Thanks!!

Hi,
try to add the information field applet to the panel, this will bring up the message for updates.
Right klick on panel >settings >add to panel.
