Window list on panel periodically disappears and reappears.

Asked by Perchik

Occasionally the window list on my panel disappears. The panel keeps it's width, but the windows disappear. If I switch workspaces and then come back, the window list reappears. If I ignore the disappearance and just use alt+tab to switch between windows, eventually the list reappears. I can't seem to pinpoint if there's any specific action that causes the disappearance.

Hi,
please check the settings in window list, where you can activate windows for current or all workspaces.

Hi,
is current what you expect or you want to see the windows list on every active workspace, then just activate the button for all workspaces or just play with the settings untill it's convenient for you.

I wish to see the stuff for the current workspace but this isn't even the issue. REGARDLESS of whether it's set on current or all, the list of windows periodically disappears even though I have windows open.

Ok,
for me it still seems like a settings issue, but at the moment I cant't figure out which one.
Because I don't have this issue, my settings are:
Metacity running not compiz.real. (If you run compiz.real the settings differ a lot from metacity.)
Windows list is locked on the panel.
Always group windows (if you want to see all every time it's never group)
In panel settings:
no autohide
What about changing the theme?
Also you find settings for panel and applets in gconf-editor under applications menu >system tools, there under apps >panel >windwow_list_screen.
In the gconf-editor you can bookmark the often visited settings and after changing anything it's helpfull to write down what has being changed, at least for the beginning.

Ask any time again.

Can you help with this problem?
