How to cause an update package to be generated ?

Asked by Kleag

I'm the author of kgraphviewer (http://extragear.kde.org/apps/kgraphviewer/). A Ubuntu user opened a bug (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=160737) about the Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy kgraphviewer-kde4 package.

The problem is now solved on the KDE svn repository. How can I ask Ubuntu to generate and release an update package ?

Note that I'm not a usual Ubuntu user. I'm a Mandriva user and as such I don't know how to generate or distribute deb packages.

Hello,

It appears that there is a new version being packaged for the kgraphviewer-kde4 package.
Maybe you can comment directly on the bug report in order to have the patch included in the next release.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kgraphviewer-kde4/+bug/226698

Looking a bit further, I can see that the same bug was already registered here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kgraphviewer-kde4/+bug/214577

You might want to comment that the bug has now been fixed on that one too.

Cheers,

Nicolas
