Nvidia driver installation ubuntu 8.04

Asked by Sunil Sivan

Recently i am upgraded my ubuntu to 8.04 but i am unable to configure my display driver. Driver is dectected by not getting high resolution. I am downloaded the Nvidia driver from Nvidia.com, but when i am running that particular file, getting the message that "No precompiled kernel interface was found to match your kernel". Please help to resolve, i am struggling with the last 2 weeks.

Thanks in advance

Please install the build-essential package with:-
sudo apt-get install build-essential

That should permit the driver module to be compiled.

Try to install envy-ng (sudo aptitude install envy-ng). It will help you to install nvidia drivers easily.

Can you help with this problem?
