I FORGOT MY PASSWORD, WHAT CAN I DO TO OPEN UBUNTU

I WAS IN UBUNTU AT ONE POINT BUT NOW I CAN'T SEEM TO REMEMBER MY PASSWORD. DO I HAVE TO GET A NEW PASSWORD OR CAN YOU ALL SEND ME AN E-MAIL TELLING ME WHAT MY PASSWORD IS. WHAT CAN I DO TO GET BACK IN?

no i am the only one and i had just loaded in my computer a couple days ago and i still can't get it open. how can i bypass that. do i have to reload it back in the computer. what the hell can i do?

Unfortunately, I think the only thing left to do would be to re-install Ubuntu. I have had to do that before because I had the wrong password. Sorry.

That's wrong !!

you can set a new password !

at boot, choose the recovery mode

You will get to a prompt. You are root and can do anything you want :-)
Enter the following command

passwd yourlogin

where, of course, your login is your login. enter your new password.
once finished, enter

reboot

select the normal boot mode. Enjoy :)

ps : your password is not sent to anyone, nobody can tell it to you by email. Fortunately.
