I renewd my Ubuntu 7.10 at 8.04 very well. And then I tried to initiate Compiz, but it doesn't work.I installed compizconfig-settings-manager but the same
result. I made "sudo apt-get install xserver-xgl" command but it makes me worse during booting procedure how it seems for me. No results. I wanted deinstall "xserver-xgl" but after command 'sudo apt-get --purge remove xserver-xgl' it writes:
E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
Afte command 'sudo apt-get remove xserver-xgl' all the same.
Worse it that after this manipulating the new 8.04's effect of blinking by Mozilla FireFox label dissapiared.

Hi,
correct, open a terminal and type:
sudo dpkg --configure -a
From there you'll try to fix the problem step by step and not make it worse.
