f-spot date issues

Asked by marco.pallotta

In HardyHaron x86-64, through f-spot (0.4.2) I imported a jpg with, among others, these metadata time info:
DateTime 2007:08:03 17:57:58
DateTimeOriginal ...the same above
DataTimeDigitized ...the same above

The Image was imported in folder 2007 -> 08 -> 03

But the date of photo was wrong. So I tried to change it by f-spot (edit -> change data): I added a month. After this operation the same image had these info:
DateTime 2007:08:03 17:57:58
DateTimeOriginal ...2007:09:03 17:57:58
DataTimeDigitized ...2007:08:03 17:57:58

From f-spot the image has now the right date (2007:09:03) but the image is always in the same folder (2007 -> 08 -> 03). I suspect that f-spot organizes images in folder by DateTime but the function to change date only affects DateTimeOriginal.
This is a big issue from me because I have many of these images with wrong date.

Is this a bug of f-spot or is there a way to solve this problem?
Have I to use another tool to edit exif info?

I was wrong. F-spot organizes images in folder by DateTimeOriginal. The issues described by me were resolved reimporting the same images after modifying DateTime (that is DateTimeOriginal). In this manner images where saved in folders based on DateTimeOriginal.
Then, obviously, we can delete first images.
