in evolution inbox shows 6 messages, but i can't see anything there- no address, no messages, just the number

I started having trouble receiving emails, but can still send them out. Now i seem to get a message I sent from another computer, but all I get is an increase in the number of messages, no display of the messages themselves or who sent them. I now have six messages, some of which I viewed previously, but I can't see anything about them. How do i get them to show?

Hello John

If it says that the inbox has 6 messengers.

Do you have any filters setup.
click inbox and current view messengers select messengers.
click inbox from the folder list on the left, just to the right under the main icons it says show: select all messengers.
also they right clicking a column under this and select customise current view and then show fields and add the relevant fields you would like to see ie from or sender, subject, date, flag, etc etc.
