Unable to complete upgrade.

Asked by Roy Sanders

I have tried 8-10 times to upgrade to 7.10 each time it goes though the entire process and ends with the following error:

Failed to fetch http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/feisty-security/main/binary-i386/Packages.bz2 Sub-process bzip2 returned an error code (2)

How can I get around this problem?

Hello roy

please download via the torrents

https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-announce/2008-April/000111.html http://releases.ubuntu.com/hardy/ubuntu-8.04-desktop-i386.iso.torrent
Here is the MD5 sums mirror
http://goukihq.org/MD5

Here is an alternative link
http://hobbsee.com/tmp/ for the .torrent files (releases.ubuntu.com is slow)

and if you are downloading normally, use local servers in Apt/Synaptic sources.

Bhavani Shankar.

Oh oh sorry upgrading to 7.10 right?

uncheck everything but official Canonical-supported packages in the "Manage Repositories" and "Software Sources" section..

and change the download server to "Main Server".

Bhavani Shankar.
