System hang after change to static IP
Asked by
Brian
I posted this problem earlier today, but it didn't appear. So sorry if it is a repeat.
I have installed Hardy from the live CD several times, and it works fine until I change to a static IP.
After I do that, if I restart the system hangs after login. [Brown screen of no life]
If I reboot, the system hangs when trying to boot from the live CD... but it works from a cold boot. The installed syatem will not boot however until reinstalled.
I have repeated this several times. A couple of times I got a "Didn't receive reply" error in a window at the top LH.
I suspect a DBus problem with the Gnome desktop.
Any comments/ workarounds - other than keeping DHCP?
