Asked by akosipatz

I want to update my operating system from and to the latest version of Ubuntu but not on internet but through the live CD. Is it possible to by pass 7.10 "Gutsby" version? If it is, can you advise or give me detailed instructions on how to do it. Thanks.

Hello

Unfortunately it is not possible to upgrade using a live CD only thing you can do with a live cd is install the new ubuntu version by erasing the existing ubuntu installation

But its possible to upgrade via an alternate CD

Insert it into your CD-ROM drive

A dialog will be displayed offering you the opportunity to upgrade using that CD

Follow the on-screen instructions

If the upgrade dialog is not displayed for any reason, you may also run the following command using Alt+F2:

gksu "sh /cdrom/cdromupgrade"

For any CD requests please contact your local community guys
